Bidding farewell to a valued colleague is always difficult. Even more so when it is a cherished friend. Paul, you have brightened my life over the past 29 years. I have so many fond memories; making kites with my children, walking through graveyards, enjoying dinner with your parents, attending a Quaker meeting, to name a few. And of course, many nights in pubs where over a few pints we discussed every topic under the sun.
You taught me a lot about out-of-the-box thinking. When most people’s brains were zigging, yours was often zagging. This led to conversations that were at times intriguing, frustrating, and enlightening. It also led to developments, such as Realize, that had a profound impact on individuals and their families.
But maybe most of all, you inspired me by your passion for our clients. It was always personal for you. Hearing you speak about Lennart and other clients through the years made it very clear where your heart was.
Paul, it has been an honor to call you a colleague and friend. I wish you the very best as you enter your next phase of life. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Paul 2.0.
